Owner / Massage Therapist
Massage has always been part of who I am. Some of my earliest memories include “massaging” my mom. She broke her back at the age of 17 and had chronic back pain because of it. I would rub her back almost every evening. In high school, I discovered that giving my mom 30-45 min back and shoulder massages would get me out of chores. Soon enough after dance practice and trips with the dance team, I learned the other dancers always wanted a massage. As I got older, I learned that my friends enjoyed when I worked on them as well.
While I was attending Butte College, a good friend of mine danced with the Sacramento Ballet and suggested I become a professional massage therapist. On our way to lunch one day, she pulled into Chico Therapy and Wellness Center. I signed up for the fall class of 2003.
In 2004, I moved back to my home town of Crescent City, California where I truly began my practice. I spent the next 3 ½ years fine-tuning my skills, even earning Best of Del Norte for massage. But I kept coming back to Chico. I love it here! So in 2007, I returned to this place I call home and have been healing Chicoans ever since.
I have continued to take classes in different modalities of massage and bodywork. I have taken Human Anatomy at Butte College and worked in the sports medicine center on campus with the Butte Athletes. Along with my personal experiences as an active person (i.e. horseback riding, soccer, hiking, CrossFit, etc.) and my pursuit of knowledge about the body, I have an understanding of movement on a physical and emotional level.
Through my years of experience building up to becoming a Certified Massage Therapist, I developed an intuitive touch. I can feel tension and injury in the body. I’m able to feel the pressure your body is willing to receive so that you can have the most therapeutic experience.
What I love most about massage, is the experience of hope it gives to my clients. My treatment has given relief to many people who have suffered from chronic issues, much like my mom, that believed they just had to deal with these issues for the rest of their lives. It doesn’t have to be that way and I feel very fortunate to have found a love for a profession that allows me to greatly impact people for the better every day! I feel very fortunate to have found a profession where I love what I do and I look forward to helping others feel comfortable in their body’s every day!
It has been my long-term dream to expand my business and build a therapeutic center to train massage students and bring together other amazingly talented people with the goal of providing all your wellness needs. With the support of my loving partner, friends, and family, that dream is now becoming reality and I’m excited to share the passion for helping others with my wonderful team and our clients!
